I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Arthur. I always enjoyed talking to him and hearing all of his delightful stories. He had a real gift for story telling and he enjoyed the telling. I do hope to be able to attend the funeral on Saturday. My love and prayers go out to all of the family. May God give you Peace. Nancy Smith
My fondest memory with my Uncle Arthur was when he accompanied me to my MIMSO Dining Out when I first joined the Air Force. It was 1987 and he looked so sharp in his uniform, and he was just a little bit happy about being able to fit in it after 22 years. The base commander – a brigadier general- was oohing and ahing over all of Arthur's medals and ribbons. Uncle Arthur ruled the night – regaling everyone with his stories. I also won't forget his singing the Air Force Song , and didn't have to cheat once and look at the words like all of us new officers. Also how tears welled up in his eyes hearing "I'm Proud To Be An American" by Lee Greenwood that night. He was truly special.
