I started babysitting Avery and his sisters when he was 12. I remember him initially being “too cool” to participate in any of the games we would play because he thought he was too old for a babysitter, but he quickly came around and started suggesting game ideas when I would come over. He was the typical brother who would tease his sisters, but from our conversations I could tell how much he was a protector and teacher towards them. I remember Avery being wise beyond his years. I knew at a young age he had a bright future ahead of him. He had such a beautiful soul and laugh that was contagious. Avery will be missed greatly. Mr. and Mrs. Knight, thank you for allowing me to be apart of your son’s life and I am so deeply sorry for your loss. No words will take the pain your feeling away, but as time goes on things will get better. You guys are great parents and Avery spoke highly of you two. Sanaa and Mia, I know life will never be the same without your brother but always remember he is by your side and he loved you ladies dearly. One day you all will all meet again. Avery rest well. Dear Tengemana, Marcus, Mia and Sanaa. My heart is breaking for you because of the passing of our beloved Avery. There are no words. Only time will ease this unimaginable pain. I take comfort in knowing my amazing Grandson was loved and cherished by each of you and everyone in our family, blood and extended. That is why I know his light will never every grow dim.
