Bennie Ruth was always special to me, probably because my Mother, Edith Marie Wooldridge Brown, loved her so much. They were cousins and I know they shared many common experiences growing up together and had a strong bond. Bennie was always so thoughtful, kind and warm, and she had a great sense of humor. She was one of the few people my mother would really talk to and trust. Bennie was a wonderful, nurturing mother and wife who was so very proud of her family. I'll always remember her doll collection. She had dolls everywhere! She even wanted my "3-foot doll" many years ago to add to her collection. I hope the dolls have gone on to someone else who will continue to cherish them. Bennie was a credit to her entire family. I'm so thankful that I knew her.
