Elizabeth Hammer
Dear Clyde and family,
What can I say that would properly describe my friendship with Betsy. From the first time we met, Betsy showed her compassion for me as if we had already been lifelong friends. That’s when our true friendship started over 40 years ago. She always made me feel so special when I would call or come over to visit with her. She was excited to see her Lizzie! That’s what she started calling me and I loved it! No one could be a better friend! We laughed together and cried together! Betsy was the best listener! I always knew she had time for me! She was my biggest cheerleader! She along with Gerry Hudnall and Janey (Stewart) Buck, proposed me for the Jr. League of Dallas, which was a dream come true and really introduced me into the world of volunteerism. She always encouraged me to try new things and to be the best! I will always be so grateful to Betsy for that and for so much more!
I have been truly blessed by my knowing and spending many hours with my beautiful, loving friend Betsy Jackson! I will always carry these memories of Betsy in my heart!
I’m so sad I will be unable to travel from Florida to attend Betsy’s memorial service but my thoughts and prayers will be with each one of you!
With love,
Elizabeth (Collins) Hammer
