Betty was such a loyal member of our Beacon Sunday school class at Spring Valley UMC. She made sure that everyone who had been ill or had other concerns always received
a card and telephone call. She made sure that our home-bound members were not forgotten by the class. She had such a compassion for others and she loved our class so it was doubly hard for us when she could no longer be a part of the class. We have missed her so much. She and I shared our love for our dogs and had many, many loving conversations about them. We have lost a great friend. I send my sympathy to her family for the loss of a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Betty was a good friend of ours, I will always remember her kindness, her smile, the kisses she gave, all the love. I remember how she used to visit everyone at the house with a big smile on her face- she always made everybody’s day. She always made sure everyone in the house was doing well- she checked on all of them. I remember how we negotiated on her finishing her food so she can get a peanut butter sandwich, ice cream or cookies- these were her favorite - l will always remember that.

I met Betty when I was in college and became friends with Sue, Tommy, and Gary. We also went to the same high school, but Gary was a year ahead of me, Sue was 3 years younger, and Tommy was 4 years behind me. I didn't meet Tom until college! As Debbie Pannel said, all of Betty's kids' friends called her "Lady", and she truly was a lady in the best sense of that word! She was talented, loving, caring, and dedicated to her task, whatever it was. She demonstrated her love and gratitude to her Lord by serving and helping others, which she faithfully and joyfully did until her debilitating stroke put limits on her physically. Yet she NEVER gave up! She truly made lemonade out of lemons and kept going and smiling!

I KNOW Betty is now with her Lord, her loving husband, G.C., her son Gary, and so many others who have gone on before her! She is perfectly well and limitless in her abilities, as she seemed to be for SO many years. I know she's laughing, talking, and hugging everyone, and is face to face with her Savior!

It has been a great joy to have had this beautiful woman in my life. She was like a second mom during my school years and had an extremely positive influence on my life. Lady, as we lovingly called her, had a special knack of making you feel special. She would laugh with you, then call you a dork. Then there would be lots of laughter! Makes me feel better that she is with G.C. and Gary now. She will be greatly missed.

In the last several years I have visited Betty, we danced, took walks, laughed, and played rumicube. She was special to me and it was my pleasure to be her friend. I will always remember her smile when I walked into the room and her growl when she disliked someone. She was a hoot and I will miss her very much. I bet she’s talking up a storm now. Sweet, sweet Betty is now in the arms of God. May God be with all the family, and hugs from me. Jan
