Beverly "Ann" Duncan Lee Stegall's Obituary
Beverly “Ann” Duncan Lee Stegall, age 79, passed away at her home December 19, 2015. Ann was born in Dallas, Texas on September 17, 1936. Her father’s job as a civil engineer moved the family around Texas most notably Fort Worth, where she graduated from Paschal High School, and Dallas where they eventually stayed. After attending North Texas State University (now known as UNT), Ann went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone where she worked for 29 years and met her husband Wayne. Ann retired after her beloved son Franklin was born. To Ann, God’s word and a cup of coffee could make anything better. She loved the Lord and was an avid prayer warrior. Her love of travel and sharing God’s word was satisfied with her membership in the “Singing Saints”. Ann supported all things conservative and would gladly share her opinions if asked. One of her favorite pastimes was going to the movies. Ann always looked her best and had a sunshine-y disposition that could go quickly from a tiny grumble to an easy, infectious laugh. She made a difference in many peoples’ lives. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, James L Duncan and Alma Louise Gupton Duncan, her husbands, Wayne Lee and Gary Stegall, and her brothers James Duncan Jr. and Charles Duncan. She is survived by her son, Franklin Lee of Allen TX, brother Carroll Duncan of Portland, Oregon, sister Janet (Bruce) Cheatham of Grand Saline, sisters in law Jean Duncan of Lindale Texas and Sue Duncan of Kaufman Texas and numerous nieces and nephews who saw her as an attentive “bonus mom”. Ann also leaves behind many, many friends. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday December 22, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will take place at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Chapel of Heights Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richardson Heights Baptist Church, 201 W. Renner Rd., Richardson, TX 75080.
