Beverly Ballard Taylor's Obituary
Beverly Ballard Taylor
Beverly Ballard Taylor, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and servant of the Lord, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 6, 2022. She celebrated 87 wonderful years. She had a smile and witty story for everyone. Her warmth and infectious laugh lightened hearts. She shared her empathy, talents, generosity, humor and kindness with all whom she knew and met. She faithfully served the Lord as a pastor’s wife for 58 years.
Beverly was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Baylor University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Beverly met her husband Dan Taylor in church choir, after seeing each other ‘across the pews.' They recently celebrated 64 years of marriage.
After college and throughout her husband’s pastoral education and ministry in Texas, Washington D.C. andMaryland, Beverly was employed by Republic National Bank, Dresser Industries, General Dynamics, HarperCollins Publishers and The Johns Hopkins Hospital. As a gifted pianist and people-lover, she supported her husband’s ministry and faithfully served the Lord as a church pianist, Sunday School teacher, church youth group leader, event planner, church secretary and in any other role she was called to. She rose to any task that was needed in the church and was a devoted helper and loving, supportive confidant to her pastor husband Dan.
Beverly filled her home with music, flowers, dogs and laughter- and always had a treat or roaring fire in the fireplace for family and visitors. She had a special love for all of God’s creatures- from the birds in the yard to the children in the neighborhood. She gave her three children support and encouragement in the arts, sports and their school activities and was their number one fan and patron for football and baseball, piano recitals, art displays, band and choir concerts, ballet performances and church and activity camps. She raised them to know the love of Jesus Christ.
Beverly is survived by her husband Pastor Dan Taylor, daughters; Allison Henninger & husband Guy, Ann Taylor Daddi & husband Pino; son Jeff Taylor; brothers Richard Ballard Sr. and DavidBallard & wife Nancy, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Beverly and Dan returned home to their beloved Dallas after theirretirement from the ministry and found their church home at Park Cities Baptist Church. The warmth, fellowship and faith of the people and worship leaders, and the music and ministries at the church fed her faith and made her feel at home in her last years.
A celebration of life service for Beverly is scheduled for 10 AM on Saturday, November 19th at the Ellis Chapel of Park Cities Baptist Church followed by a reception.
The family requests donations be made to Park Cities Baptist Church in memory of Beverly.
