James, I will always remember your Father helping to coach our Little League baseball team. And who could forget him driving around the neighborhood in that brown Corvair. Good memories. What a nice man.

I will always remember Mr. Bill Jessup as one of the most dedicated & professional engineers I've worked with. He was truly a positive influence to many young engineers at the City of Dallas & was most influencial in my career of becomming a licensed professional engineer. His integrity was demonstrated to all. With greatest gratitude & respect for a truly honorable man,. My thoughts & prayers are with Bill's family. Sincerely, Barbara Reading, P.E. Sr Project Manager City of Dallas
From Alberta L. Blair, P.E., Dallas County Public Works Director to County Staff: Many of you who have been in the engineering world for the last 20 yrs may recall Mr. Bill Jessup, PE. Just got the word as seen in the attached email that he passed this week. Mr. Jessup was one of the pioneering engineers at the City of Dallas and was one the main authors of the City of Dallas design specifications, including the 251D Manual as well the NCTCOG construction specifications. He led the way to training many of the engineers in this community and was a Past President of the ASCE Dallas Chapter. He also served at the County at the end of his career as a Project Engineer. From Abel V. Saldaña, P.E., CFM, P.E., Dallas County Public Works Project Manager: Bill Jessup had a tremendous influence in the careers of so many civil engineers years ago! As an E.I.T. in the late '70s, I came to know of Mr. Jessup while working for Cook Consultants on the County's Spring Valley Rd. Project. Besides receiving the County's comments, as Head of the City of Dallas West Paving Section, Bill (as he preferred being called), took the time to delineate in writing revisions to be made on the project paving & drainage plans on a sheet by sheet basis. I along with many engineers learned what level of QA / QC he expected and should require. Years later in the mid '90s while working here @ DCPW, I was having difficulty getting across to a County consultant revisions necessary to proceed in finalizing plans. Both Bud Beene, Dallas County Public Works Director, and Alberta Blair, Dallas County Public Works Assistant Director, told me what I needed to do, and I responded with a "you mean a Bill Jessup Letter – right!?!" He truly mentored us into being responsible engineers. One thing Bill championed was attending the monthly Dallas ASCE Meeting. He'd come around the day of and hustle us into attending with him for professional development, networking with our peers, and having a good lunch! To this day I haven't forgotten what being an ASCE member means to me, and I really owe that to Bill. Bill Jessup led by example in so many different ways! I'm very grateful to have worked with and have known him. May God continue to Bless Bill Jessup's family during these difficult times!

I worked with Mr. Jessup at the City of Dallas many years ago. He was by far one of the nicest people I ever worked for or with. I have not heard of him in many years but will always remember his kind ways.. My sympathy to the family, especially his wife of many years. Bonnie Plunk Holt
