Billie Cowart's Obituary
A Beautiful Lady A Beautiful Life If you knew Billie at all, you would say she knew how to make the most out of life. She knew how to make everything somehow beautiful. Born on June 21, 1940, Billie Maud Driggers was raised in Garland, TX. She attended Garland High School where she participated in a variety of activities including cheerleading. During this time, she was also named “Miss Teenage Texas”. Billie met Doyle Cowart, the love of her life and husband of 54 years while working at Western Union office in the Garland bus station. They were married on January 1, 1962. Billie worked at Esystems for several years where she was promoted to Communications Supervisor. Billie’s treasures were her family whom she loved, her friends, her art and most importantly, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. From an early age God blessed Billie with an extraordinary artistic talent and love of beauty. After marrying Doyle, Billie asked the Lord how she could use her art talent for him. He answered as in the 1970’s she opened her home to oil painting students for the next 36 years. These students became some of her closest friends and even family. Several came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior during those classes. Billie also participated in numerous art shows in and around the Dallas area. Billie’s love of beauty and her artistic flare spilled over into every area of her life. She counted her blessings more than anything else and knew that prayer turned even the negatives into positives. She could make the everyday things of life Sparkle and Shine! We love you so very much Billie and will miss you greatly. We can’t wait to see you again in Heaven. Have fun painting those rainbows! Billie was met in Heaven by her dear loving mother. She is preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Estella Hallmark. She is survived by her husband, Doyle Cowart, 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, March 18, 2016 at 12:30 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX
