Dear Family of Precious Birdie, Though you and I have never met, your mother was a shining spot in my life. My husband and I were newly married and lived next door to Birdie on Rosedale Avenue in 1988-1989. She was one of the first people we told when we found out we were pregnant with our first baby. We moved away shortly after becoming pregnant and lost track of Birdie when they sold the homes to widen Central. Over the years, we would think of her and wonder where she was and what she was doing. We'd remember how at 81, she would still mow her own lawn, and how much she would stress that it was important to get out and walk EVERYDAY, because once you stop moving, you might never get started again! In fact we were just wondering about Birdie last week. She gave us a small painting and everytime I look at it I am reminded of her kind word and friendly smile. Your mother had so much warmth and love to share. My husband came across her obituary this morning when looking for another friend, so now we know she's in a better place. I wish we could have seen her again as we think about her often. I just wanted you to know how much we thought of your mom and pray that you receive God's peace and healing through this time.
