Born to Wesley and Bernice Elliston, Bruce's journey began in Dallas, where he was raised in a loving family that instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and integrity. He pursued his passion for medicine, earning his medical degree and dedicating his life to helping others. As a physician, Bruce was renowned for his patient and caring nature, always taking the time to listen to his patients and provide them with the best possible care. His quick wit and sense of humor brought comfort and joy to those around him, making even the most challenging situations a little brighter.
In 1988, Bruce married the love of his life, Kathy. Their union was a testament to true love and partnership, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Emily, Daniel, and Michael - who were the light of Bruce's life. He was a devoted father, guiding his children with wisdom and love. His family was his pride and joy.
Bruce was an active member of Sagamore Baptist Church, where his faith and commitment to his community were evident to all who knew him. He served in various capacities within the church, always willing to lend a helping hand and support those in need. His strong faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance throughout his journey.
Outside of his professional and church life, Bruce had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, singing, and playing the trumpet. Bruce's curiosity and love for life were infectious, inspiring those around him to embrace each day with enthusiasm and gratitude.
Bruce's patience, caring nature, and sharp sense of humor endeared him to his patients, colleagues, and friends. He loved his family dearly and always put them first, creating a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished forever. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his impact on the lives of others will never be forgotten.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Elliston (Cheek); their three children; Emily Elliston, and husband Tyler; Daniel Elliston and wife, Anita; and Michael Elliston; his grandchildren, Lincoln, Arya, and Lilah; his brother, Mark Elliston; his brother-in-law, Ken Cheek, and wife Sandy; his neices, Danielle and Scarlett; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts. His legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him.
Public visitation for Bruce will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 2nd, 2025 at Restland Funeral Home 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
Memorial Services for Bruce will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 3rd, 2025 at Sagamore Baptist Church 2301 Dottie Lynn Pkwy, Fort Worth, TX 76120.
