Byron Claude Jenkins' Obituary
Byron Claude Jenkins passed peacefully in his sleep on Father's Day, June 16, 2024, at Presbyterian Hospital. Byron was loved and will be missed by every person lucky enough to know him.
Byron was Gorn in Dallas, Texas on July 15, 1952 to Robert and Florine Jenkins. The family moved to Amarillo, Texas when Byron was in elementary school. He lived there until he graduated from High School in 1970. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas in 1976. Byron worked for the VA Hospital in Dallas for approximately 32 years.
On August 14, 1976, Byron married Peggy Louise Luckett and they had two children, Erik Estes on November 23, 1983 and Kyle Robert on September 17, 1985.
Byron’s favorite hobby was photography and there are years of photos and slides documenting his life.
Byron never met a stranger in his life and was the first one to step in for a friend in need He will be missed by all who knew him.
Byron is survived by his wife Peggy, his sons, Erik and Kyle, Erik's wife, Braelin and their two daughters, Jewel and Jade. Also survived by sister, Vivian Floce, brother, Robert Glenn and his wife, Karla, sister, Robin Gayle and her husband, Hiram, and many nieces and nephews.
