Carl Wilhelm Gruninger's Obituary
Carl W. Gruninger of McKinney, TX went to join The Lord on March 26, 2023. Born August 3rd, 1939 in Union Township, New Jersey to Karl and Marie Gruninger, who preceded him in death. He is survived by: his 5 children Glenn, Lisa, Melissa, Todd, and Chris; his 9 grand-children Chasity, Shane, Justin, Jason, Joshua, Kaela, Robyn, Jaxon, and Lillian; great-grandchildren August, Isabel, and Lane; son-in-laws Dean and Randall; daughter-in-laws Kathie, Wendi, and Jennifer; and dog Bella. Carl served a long, successful career with the Department of Health & Human Services in the Office of Inspector General. “Grumpy,” as his close friends and family lovingly referred to him as, will be forever remembered for his strong faith, his selflessness and willingness to sacrifice for his family and friends, his generosity to the many charities he supported, his talent with sarcasm, his commitment to his loving wife, Patti, and the amazing model as a father he provided to the family he and Patti built. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed” (Revelation 21:4). Family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, March 30th at Restland Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00PM at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 1515 N. Greenville Avenue, Allen, TX 75002 on Friday, March 31st 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
