Cathi Lee Thompson Ross' Obituary
Cathi Lee Thompson Ross passed suddenly, surrounded by her family, on December 9, 2021. A cancer survivor, Cathi was a spitfire who attacked every day with a zest for life, and who deeply touched the lives of all around her.
Cathi was born in Jefferson, Missouri, on December 6, 1945 to Virginia (Ginger) and Daniel Thompson. She married the love of her life, Houston (Butch) Ross Jr. on December 31, 1968, and shared almost 53 years with her husband. During her teen years, she was an accomplished diver who competed in the Junior Olympics. After an early career as a bank teller, she left the business world to raise her three children, Houston (Sonny) Ross III, Amie Steiert, and Cathryn (Katie) Young. She had a passion for music, dancing, and animals of all kinds.
Cathi was preceded in death by her parents Ginger and Dan, stepfather William Waldron, sister Amy, and son in law Beau Burks Young. She is survived by her husband Butch, brother Scott Thompson, children Sonny, Amie, and Katie, son in law Michael Steiert, daughter in law Karin Ross, and grandchildren Houston Ross IV, Jakob Steiert, Kolt Steiert, Adyson Fea, and Wyatt Young.
Given Cathi’s passion for animals, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in her name to “Take Me Home Pet Rescue” at TMHPR.com
