Charles "Chuck" Cosmo Centorbi III's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Cosmo Centorbi III, 67, of Garland, TX, passed away on October 11, 2022, surrounded by loved ones after a 3½-year battle with prostate cancer.
Chuck was born on January 21st, 1955, to Charles (Charlie) Cosmo Centorbi Jr. and Ursula Winn Centorbi in New Orleans, LA. After graduating from Chalmette High School in 1973, Chuck went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1978.
After LSU, he worked for Hibernia Bank in New Orleans where he met and then married the love of his life, Elaine Provost, on February 21, 1981. The couple lived in Kenner, LA before moving to Dallas and then Garland, TX. Chuck worked for Mobil Oil, EDS, and then 22 memorable years with Hitachi Data Systems where he found a passion for the competitive sales atmosphere.
Chuck and Elaine raised two children, Charles (Chad) Cosmo Centorbi IV (b. 1985) and Chelsea Brooke Centorbi (b. 1989). Chuck was proud to always be involved and present in his children’s activities and lives. Later in life, when he wasn’t relaxing with his wife on their patio, he spent his time golfing, rooting for his LSU Tigers, going on family vacations in his RV, and spoiling his 6 grandchildren. He especially enjoyed his retirement by traveling abroad with Elaine.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Ursula, and his stepfather, Sidney Weaver. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; his sister, Barbara (Greg) Zerrahn; his two children, Chad (Amanda) Centorbi and Chelsea Centorbi; and his six grandchildren, Peyton, Asher, Dominic, Emma, Charlotte, and Landon.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20th from 5:00 to 8:00, including a rosary at 7:30, at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 S. Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 21st at 1:30 in the chapel of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd, Richardson, TX 75081. Interment of ashes will immediately follow at the St. Joseph Columbarium, culminating with a reception at the church dining hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in Chuck’s name.
