My best memories of Butch and his family was racing drag boats in the 80s. We traveled all over the country and Butch was always there doing all kinds of things to make sure the boat was always ready and safe. We won the world championship in 1986 in BGH – a feat which could not have been done with out him. Butch worked long days during the week putting in alarms and would show up to the shop every night to work on the boat. He gave up almost every Sunday away from his family to be at the shop helping. I will miss his friendship and his wonderful attitude. He was an outstanding friend and a great father.
