Uncle Larry was the sweetest, most honorable, good loving man I have ever had the privilege of knowing! He was also one of the funniest people I know!! His love of funny ties and silly jokes made him so much fun to be around! His love of my Aunt Jeannine was epic! Everywhere you would look in their home you would see little love notes to each other. They were so cute! I was 8 when Larry called Jeannine for the first time and I was at her house and answered her phone. I thought, who is this guy calling my Aunt! So I grilled him before my Aunt took the phone from me, lol!! I met him face to face soon after that going to church with my Aunt and I was hooked!! After they were married I asked him at the reception "since you married my Aunt and she's my God mother, that means you my Godly uncle, right?" He of course said it did!! While in basic training, AIT, and stationed in Germany for the military, he and Aunt Jeannine excepted every collect call from a very homesick young girl!! We also would call each other on our birthdays since we almost shared one, his being the 11th and mine the 20th! I miss my Aunt always singing "You Light Up My Life!" to us!!! He really was the Light of Her Life!!!! I thank God for bringing Charles Laurence Gott, my dearest uncle Larry, into our lives!!! I will miss him terribly until we meet again!!!
Im going to have a lot of firsts. Today is my first day back to work. I miss you like crazy. It was always comforting knowing you were with Mom and Judi in your final months. They loved you so much as well. David is handling the logistics awesomely. I wouldnt expect nothing less. I was so blessed to have you in my life. Keep thinking of the awesome times we had and so glad your pain is gone. You taught me how to live and die with dignity and grace. Be sure and slap me if you see me making wrong decisions. I dont respond well to subtlety. Ill do my best. We will be at your “earth suit” send of Monday. I know you already packed up to Glory. This will be a journey for me not a one time event.

Dad, I always thought I would be prepared for this day. I wasnt really. You would have been really proud of all of us working together to make things the very best we could. Thank you Dad I will always hold onto the teachings and your examples of Christ. You are one reason my belief will NEVER be rocked. Thank you for choosing me Dad. You were always a father, friend and advisor to me in all things. You loved me unconditionally my entire life and loved and accepted those I loved and shared my life with as well. Cara loves you. She wanted to be with us when you went home but she needed to be with Cayson. Cayson loves his Grandpa Larry. I havent been able to tell him but Im certain you will help me. Im so happy your with Jeannine I know that was so very hard for you. I meant it when I told you Ill be ok and you did your job and did it well. I know God told you “well done my good and faithful servant”
