Chuck, you epitomize strength, caring, compassion and character above and beyond the call of the CAF. You'll be forever in our memories and hearts in our 'Airman's Hall of Fame'. The Navy and CAF has sent a top notch Airman home to rest.
I am proud to have called Chuck my brother-in-law over the years. I have many fond memories of visiting your home, when you first moved back to Dallas, and at your home in DeSoto. Chuck was such a fighter that I would never have known he was sick unless someone told me. My favorite memories are the family's banter about Chuck's favorite Kansas City sports teams vs. our local teams and the one time I actually got to go to the golf course with Chuck–many years ago. Chuck was always so upbeat and an engaging conversationalist. Chuck will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Marlene and the boys. My sincere condolences, Jodi Mottwiler
I love you Dad and miss you very much. You helped me out when I needed it. You were there at my graduation from High School. You helped me out with my first car. I had a good time when me and you went fishing together. All the times we watched your favorite NASCAR driver Mark Martin win races. And the most memorable thing was when he said you know what would make me happy if you go on your trip to Alabama for the 45th Mustang Anniversary. When he was stationed in Hawaii and we lived on the Naval base he would bring us something back from his trips to different places.
Chuck, one of the kindest, dearest men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. One of life's true gentlemen. When I see the Corsair, I know that you will always be there watching over us. I will miss you my dear friend. Tracey Smiley, CAF Corsair Sponsor Group.
Chuck was one of the first people I met at the DFW Wing and could always count on him leading the way in every aspect of the mission of the Commemorative Air Force, I will miss his cheerful good nature and his stories of days past. Thank You Chuck As The Irish Say "MAY YOU BE IN HEAVEN A HALF AN HOUR BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOUR DEAD" Good Bye my Friend. Tom

The family of Eugesne & Joan Hilvers sends their deepest sympathies to Marlene and sons. With regrets that we cannot attend the funeral
Although I did not know Charles personally I do know his son Dwayne Horner to be a caring and thoughtful individual. Dwayne's forthright admiration of his father in conversation and sensitive approach to life tells me Charles was a man we could all benefit from knowing. Please accept my prayers and sympathy for your family.
