The picture of Charlie, Karen, Gary, and Jeffrey that appeared in Facebook brought back wonderful memories of when our family used to visit with Bill (Bub) and (Little) Bett and their children, first in Quanah and later in Garland. I remember so well how Charlie, even as a young boy, acted as though he had no disability. He had one of the sweetest, kindest hearts of anyone I've known. The last time I saw Charlie was at a Baskett reunion in Granbury. He and Bub came for it, and we had the nicest visit. I don't think I ever saw him without a big smile on his face. We were so thankful when he met the love of his life, Janet. John and I first met her at a Garland hospital when Bub was there for a treatment. You can tell by what Janet has written that they were still just as much in love as they were when she first moved into Charlie's life. My heart hurts for you, Janet, for Bett, and the other siblings. It's so hard, and he was way too young. Love you, Shady
