I haven't seen Charles (or Lisa) in 20 years, but that does not dim the memory he left from when we worked at the First Court of Appeals, before they married. He carried out the unenviable task of selling computerization to skeptical judges, none more than I. Charles' message was resistible, but he was irresistible, diligent, creative, forward looking, and cheerful when it was hard to be. He was unforgettable.
I wish I could hear him laugh (if only as a courtesy) today when I could brag that I turned the computer on this morning without help, wrote this message, and have a good chance of turning it off tonight.
