I am saddened to learn of Charles' death as we have been friends fot many years. Charles & Virginia moved in behind where we lived in Dallas when I was 2 years old. I grew up knowing them and they were like second parents to me, taking me many places with them. I met Charles' younger sister, Georgia Carol, and we spent much time playing together growing up. They were very dear to me and my family and lived a strong Christian life. I have missed them a lot over the years. They were dedicated members of First Baptist Church Richardson involved in the Goldenaires Choir for many years. Virginia worked in the Nursery for many years and was well-known throughout her life at First Baptist Richardson. I am sad they are both gone but know they are in a much better place in Heaven!!

I will always cherish the memory of my Uncle Charles. He was a good man and is resting in heaven now.
It’s difficult to say how one could miss a man they only met once, briefly, but I do indeed miss him, or more accurately, getting to know Charles well.
Being new to the neighborhood, I was busy working in my yard on a hot summer day when I heard someone calling across the alley for my attention. It was Charles, just returning home with his wife Virginia, who had been ill and had already gone inside.
Charles, at about ninety five years of age, stood out in the blazing Texas sun, for longer than he should have, just to greet a new neighbor. We only talked for a few minutes, but I could instantly see he was a good man. He talked about his family and how they had been the first and only family to live the house which was built in 1953. Just knowing that he and Virginia had been married for seventy plus years, made me want to spend more time getting to know the two of them.
However, it was not to be. I think of him often and the rich life they shared together in their home.
Prayers and to his family and friends, who were blessed to share so many years with him.
