This is my Papa and I won't forget what he did for me in my life. I will miss him so much.
Charles was a coworker and friend at Bailey Tool. We connected because of our beliefs and interests. Charles always kept the same calm demeanor and good attitude no matter what. We talked often about faith, family and fishing. After six years of working together I moved away to Kansas. It would have been easy to lose touch since we no longer worked together, but not for Charles. He stayed in touch and invited me to join him at the family cabin on more than one of his trips up. That’s just the kind of man he was. After I recently returned to Texas and ended up just down the road west of Rio Vista, we had planned to meet for dinner. Unfortunately that didn’t happen before he passed. I was really looking forward to seeing him because Charles was a man with the kind of character that you want to be around and connect with. He will be greatly missed.
It seems like it was just yesterday when that tall guy with dark brown hair parted to the side and swooping across his forehead came into Linda’s life and never left. I know there were hard and sad times but your love and dedication for each other never stopped. It only grew as you built your family together. I know you loved each one with all your heart.
Love And dedication like that is hard to find these days.
I am thankful that I was there in the 70’s when God talked to your heart as well as me and a lot of other ones. The praise and pray meetings will always be in my heart and mind.
Linda we love you. I know he will be truly missed, but we know you have that hope of meeting again.
There are so many memories of our families spending vacations, cabin trips, and us just being together. You are a role model to many and showed everyone what a good father, grandfather, son, brother-in-law, and friend should be like. You will truly be missed.
I love you Charles
