Dad- Yesterday we laid you to rest. Although I will miss you for the rest of my days, I know you are truley at rest now. I believe you are happy to be reunited with Grandma, Grandpa, Stan and Uncle Jack. I can just imagine the conversations you guys are having. Rejoice in Jesus and until we meet again, know that you gave me such a wonderful life. You taught me how to love and care. I owe everything thing I am to you. God saw you getting tired And the cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you And whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. It's lonesome here without you We miss you so each day, Our lives aren't the same now, Since you went away. When days are sad and lonely, And everything goes wrong, We seem to hear you whisper, "Cheer up and carry on." Each time we see your picture, You seem to smile and say, "Don't cry, I'm in God's keeping, We'll meet again someday." Charles was a wonderful man. He will be deeply missed. Peepaw, you were such an amazing Grandfather! I truly enjoyed every moment with you. My memories of you will be cherished and saved in my heart forever. You were always smiling and making me laugh with your witty humor. I will miss you and make sure your legacy is known for many generations. I love you!
