While working at FBCR as a volunteer, I was awed by Charlotte's compassion and love for her work and its affect on the children. Regardless of what was happening in her life she had a smile and always took time to talk. She exuded faith and love. Greatly she is missed and great is her reward from her Heavenly Father. Charlotte was my friend for many years. She was a committed Childcare Director, a fabulous colleague and staff member, an excellent early childhood educator , a dedicated mom, a woman of faith and a person of extreme courage and honesty.
Charlotte always did her best in everything she was part of. She knew the value of details in making things run smoothly. She was a creative thinker who used her many skills in so many events , classes, board of directors, committees, and programs.
She treated everyone fairly and with respect- despite their economic or social status. Charlotte was not a “ player”. She believed in the worth of every child, teacher and family.
She overcame many obstacles and challenges and used the lessons learned to make the world better. She changed my life for the better.
Thank you Charlotte for your contribution to DAPE, Dallas AEYC, and the Learning Academy at First Methodist Garland. You will be missed more than the words our broken hearts can say.

I met Charlotte when my former husband Pat Campbell, took me to meet his dear friend Doug Leslie, at his home in Garland, for us to all go out and watch Doug play drums.Doug had started dating Charlotte,and we could tell they were so in love, and happy together.. we all spent many wonderful times together, their wedding, and many celebrations and special warm times over the years. When Charlotte had Adam it was her next greatest event and sole purpose to love and care for her son. Doug and Charlotte were so excited and proud of their baby boy. I'll always remember the amazing special memories we all have shared. Charlotte had the most beautiful smile and the sweetest eyes,and heart, she'd always help you in any way she could. We always had warm deep conversations, and she was so loving and supportive to me,over heartful moments we shared with each other. Like a sweet close sister.
Sadly after my divorce to my husband, we loss touch over these many years, due to me moving out of state, and life taking us in different directions.
Charlotte and Doug have always been in my heart and prayers,and I've really missed them both.
I'm so very sad to hear about Charlotte, yet I know she's with our Lord in Heaven, doing the work He has for her.
She is deeply missed and loved by us all.
We shall see you again on the other side...
