Your team misses you Cheryl! On behalf of the Green Team, I?d like to express that Cheryl will be missed each and every day. She was a big part of our team, and was always a shining light. She has, especially over the past 5 years, exemplified the power of positive attitude and has been truly inspirational. We could always count on her support, her laughter, her funny stories and for reminding us of what is important in life when we were going through stressful times. She was our rock, our light house and our spiritual leader. We will miss her, and we send our deepest condolences to her family and other close friends. One thing is sure, the Long Horns will be hearing her cheer them on from heaven!

We first met in 1989 when she became my admin assistant at HKS. I knew then it was going to be a fun ride due to her quick wit, awesome sense of humor, and love for all things sports; especially UT football. Being a Texas Tech grad, we had a standing lunch bet on the UT/TT game at Ojeda's with the loser buying (usually me). She babysat my two daughters on numerous occasions and went to the lake house with us every Memorial Weekend to help watch the kids. Her payment was all she could eat and drink…boy, did I lose out on that deal! I remember her collection of blue marlin swizzle sticks on her computer but I will never forget a small sign she had on her cubicle that read, "All sexual harassment will be graded; Sensational, Exceptional, Xtraordinary". My heart is broken but I am glad you suffer no more. I'm sure you and Darryl Royal will be sitting together this football season watching your beloved longhorns play. I remember the very first day I met Cheryl. I had become friends with Sam and his crew in Long Beach and they had all been excited for me to meet this lady who had been a friend of there's for many years. I went to Sam's July 4th party and there was this girl sitting on the wall with a bottle of Champagne. She wouldn't share and I walked of thinking well that wasn't nice. Then Sam introduced us and I managed to get her to share that bottle with me. Our Friendship stuck and over the years we shared many bottles of Champagne. Usually while she watched me decorate my Christmas trees in Texas. Thank you Cheryl for all the wonderful memories. I will miss you a lot. Love Colin

Cheryl will always be special to me, my Blue team fun person,… she was a UT Longhorns fan and me a Sooner fan,which we always joked about. However, in knowing her fight through the years, the bond has been deeper in many ways. God bless her and may her family find comfort in knowing that she is loved always.

Cheryl was special – we would go to the Blue Marlin for lunch and she would keep the plastic stir sticks for tea and line them up on the top of her computer monitor – (in the 90s we did not have flat screens). She always had a positive spirit – May God surround and comfort her family.
