Chuck Dulany Lingo's Obituary
Chuck Dulany Lingo passed away at his home in Dallas on May 24, 2016. Born on April 22, 1964, Chuck is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ann Lingo Smith, maternal grandparents, G. Dulany and Mary Louise Lingo, and paternal grandparents, Edward and Elsie Smith. Chuck lost his mother at an early age but he remained an adoring and devoted son. A visit to Chuck’s home was never complete until he had shown his guest the portrait of his beautiful and elegant mother as a young debutante, which hung in his bedroom. Chuck graduated from Highland Park High School in 1983 and attended SMU. He remained a steadfast supporter of the schools and was an avid collector of both Scots and Mustang memorabilia. Chuck took his family to lunch every Sunday to Kuby’s Restaurant in Snyder Plaza. High school friends fondly remember him as the legendary “Super Scot” who cheered for the Scots on the sidelines at football games and at pep rallies. He could once be found on Sundays at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, although he later visited congregations nearer to his home. He was naturally perceptive about people and often expressed his views with a subtle wit and soft chuckle. He was a kind and loving soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. He treasured his friends and family and was deeply loved by his caretakers. Chuck’s generosity will be remembered by his loved ones and the numerous charitable organizations which he supported. He was recently described by a classmate as a man of great character who took life’s adversities in stride and overcame every imaginable challenge. He is survived by his aunt, Joan Moreland and cousins, Elise and Olivia Stanley, Angela and Miranda Ruggeri. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Restland Abbey Chapel with visitation in the Chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA, Operation Kindness, and the Humane Society.
