Colin Charles Frederic Chopin, 84 years of age, of Plano Texas. Died April 28th, 2020 in Plano Texas. He was born on November 5th, 1935 to Colin Hue-Kane Chopin and Mary Liddy (Chopin) in Australia. He was married to Wendy Margaret Chopin on October 4th, 1958 in Australia.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Chopin Miller and her husband
Eric of Tulsa Oklahoma, his son Marc Chopin and fiancé Holly of Moscow
Idaho, and his son Christopher Chopin. He had 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Retired attorney, real estate entrepreneur and philanthropist. Colin spent
time on the city of Plano Planning and Zoning, the Collin County Grand
Jury, volunteering at the Plano Library aiding immigrants with the English
as a second language program. Colin dedicated his life to Civil Service.
Colin was loved and admired by many. A devoted and loving husband, father and doting grandfather/great grandfather. Among his many passions was helping others. Colin had a great affinity for animals, especially his German Shepherd, Heidi. Horses also held a special place in his heart. Family and reunions in France brought him great joy.
To honor Craig Gilbert, a high school coach in Plano who over 40 years
ago drowned while saving a student, Colin and Kenneth Garrey, along with
other members of the community, founded the Craig Gilbert Scholarship Fund. Colin was a dedicated board member for this scholarship for 40 years, aiding countless students in the Plano School District. In lieu of
flowers donations can be made to the Craig Gilbert Scholarship Fund,
