FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
My dear friend Constance Chukwurah went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2023. I met Constance Chukwurah over 30 years ago as we both belonged to Nzuko Umu Aro where we learned to value and celebrate each other through our common culture and heritage. Over this period, I was able to observe Constance and noticed some very endearing qualities about her. Constance was fiercely loyal. She would show up for you whenever you needed her. She
always had a sense of responsibility- responsibility to herself, her children, family, and her community.

Constance was a fighter and one of the most courageous people I know. Throughout her health challenges she persevered while in unbelievable pain and worked through years of serious health issues to support her children and loved ones. Looking back, I am in awe of how she never gave up and her sheer will to survive kept her for many years. I learned the power of resilience in the face of adversity from her extraordinary determination to overcome numerous challenges she faced in her lifetime.

One of the best qualities God bestowed on Constance is the ability to give and receive love. I knew her as a formidable mother that loved her children beyond measure. Over the 30 years of our friendship and sisterhood, I always felt loved and appreciated as much as I showed her love and appreciated her. Constance had an air about her that made people comfortable. She was honest, kind, and supportive. These are rare qualities that inspired me and others in her circle of influence.

I spoke to Constance two days before she passed. She was not conscious, but I felt in my heart that she heard me when I assured her that she was loved. I find comfort in that, and I hope her children and all that love her will too.

Rest easy Ada Mazi! Your memory will always be a blessing.

I am writing this tribute with great sadness and tears in my eyes to realize that my good friend Constance is gone. This means that I will have an empty chair this Thanksgiving on the dinner table this year. It is so difficult for me to come to terms that you won't be there no more. Losing you Constance is one of the hardest pain I have had to go through in my life time.
On October 13, 2023, the Lord Himself came to meet with you at your ICU hospital bed in the way so hard to tread and with Jesus arm, you leaned on. He gently called you home. All the pains and grief is over. You are now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. However, I find solace in knowing that you are at peace now, free of pain
I first met Constance in the 1990s. For over thirty years she was a wonderful friend to me, a very beautiful person inside and out with her gentle and caring nature. She was authentic with people, she never judged or forced her opinions on anyone. She was very loving and real. She touched my life with kindness and generosity. She anchored herself in faith and uplifted by hope. She was a woman of God and worked hard and was attacked by the enemy, God came through for her and gave her a second chance to life by adding another eighteen years before she was called home on the 13th October 2023.
Constance fought a brave, courage and strong battle for eighteen years of illness and pain with optimism. She took each day in stride never really complained. She always hoped that the surgeries and treatments would help her live her life and that was my hope too, but God had another plan for her. During her illness, two things kept her going, her children and hope. She was a wonderful mother to her two children and laid a strong foundation for them and I will watch over them, as you trusted me to be a God parent to one of your two girls.
You were more than a friend; you were family and a source of strength. I miss you more than words can say. You were always there for me through the good times and the bad times. Thank you for your love, your generosity and your trust. It was an honor to know you and you will always hold a special place in my heart. In the tapestry of life, you were irreplaceable thread. We may be separated by distance, but our connection as friends transcends death.
With tears in my eyes and heavy heart I say goodbye to amazing friend who inspired me every day. I won't ever forget you.
