Cynthia S. Eggert, 66, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at her home in Garland, Texas (TX) following a short illness. Cindy was born on July 29, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Harriett Eggert. She grew up in Florissa Read Obituary
I got to know Cindy after becoming a supervisor in Lab Central in 1999. As I continued to work with her, I discovered that she was not only very intelligent but also very kind, willing to listen and answer questions and provide guidance with patience and grace. After she retired, it was always good to hear from her or see her, to renew the friendship that had developed over many years. Cindy had an infectious laugh that I will always remember, and I will always be grateful for having known her, and for the influence that she had upon me. My sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones. She will be greatly missed.

Cindy was one of those special people in the Parkland Pathology Department. She was one of the first faces that I met when I started working there in 1986. Although I only worked for her for one year, I was able to collaborate more closely in latter years as I gained supervisory experience myself. I will never forget the time in 1991 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. We did not have FMLA, or job protected leave of absences then. Cindy gave me a week of her own vacation time! What a big heart!
Cindy had a dry sense of humor that kept me laughing. She was the team lead on our Cerner project where spent two years in the same conference room working on the project and really got to know each other. I will miss her at our future Parkland happy hours. She would have loved diving in the Marshall Islands where I lived as a kid. I wish I could have talked with her more about this. I met Cindy back in 1983 as an MT student when our Chem teacher left and they hadn't found a replacement. All the Chem Supervisors had to give us lectures to fill in until they found the replacement. After school, I was lucky enough to work in Chemistry alongside those Supervisors
where I made life long friendships and all have all become my extended family. Cindy was my mentor and my friend, and she amazed me with all the things she has done in life. I felt I could ask her anything and she always had either an answer or a plan and help guide my path. She always made sure to keep in touch after we left our jobs while letting me know what was going on in her life and of our Parkland family. I will truly miss her and her updates and her making sure I knew of whatever event was upcoming in the sky . I loved seeing the pictures of her, thank you for that Jay, it brought back memories of our first working days together. Bless you all and most of all rest in peace my friend!

Cindy was dedicated to providing excellent service to our customers. She had a strong work ethic. I will remember her laugh and wit. I will forever cherish the memory of her leaving snickers bars for me (because she said 'I was not myself when I was hungry').
Jay, I pray that God will be with you and your family for strength, comfort and peace. I am so sorry for your loss.
I had the pleasure of working with Cindy throughout my 28 years at Parkland. Our paths frequently crossed first thing in the morning in the back hallway of the old Lab – Cindy invariably had a witty snipet to get the day started. I will miss her sense of humor and sharp wit. As a key member of the Lab management team for many years, her dedication to serving the Parkland patients was obvious as evidenced by her hard work in the Lab through both the good and the tough times. Cindy was also dedicated to her friends at Parkland, returning regularly after retirement for celebrations. Upon my retirement this year, Cindy reached out to me because she knew my interest in gardening. I was looking forward to sharing our mutual gardening interests once the pandemic circumstances allowed – I regret we missed that chance but will certainly think of her in the future as I tend my garden. I always remember Cindy's smile. She was a dedicated worker and kind hearted woman. I will always miss her. May her soul rest in peace.
Cindy was one of the first people I met when I started work at parkland in 1980. Over the years we had our ups and downs but I would always consider cindy my friend. I enjoyed working with cindy over the years. After she retired and when I would come to town we always tried to get together for dinner. She got me hooked on the quail dinner at Gloria's too. I will miss you. Rest in peace my friend.
