Daisy O'Dell Lollis' Obituary
Daisy O’Dell Lollis, 82, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on September 30, 2017. Daisy was born October 16, 1934 in Dallas, Texas, and lived the last seventeen years in Frisco, Texas. Daisy was preceded in death by her father Charles Langdon Camplen and Katherine Oram Camplen, her husband George W. Lollis, and her sister Mary Lee Karas. Daisy was survived by her two sons, Terry Jones and George Lollis, their spouses Omar Angeles and Paige Lollis, her brother Robert Camplen, and many other extended family. Daisy was truly a “Pioneer Woman” and an opportunist. She lived a full and rich life as a World Traveler, a Pilot, a Rancher, a Motorcyclist venturing down the busiest of highways, a Race Car owner, a Fashion Model, an Antique Dealer for over 40 years, an Executive Secretary, a Red Cross Nurse, a member of the Texas All Girls Choir signing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, a Den Mother for her two boys, a Prison Minister, and a loving mother and homemaker. Whether it was playing the piano by ear, or singing in perfect pitch, there was nothing Daisy could not do. But mostly, Daisy was the most loving, generous person that anyone could ever meet. Daisy’s infectious smile, her witty character, her Mensa-level intelligence, her feisty spirit, her zest for life, her warm smile, and her loving heart always made a lasting mark on everyone she met. Daisy’s family and her faith in Jesus Christ were her greatest strength and comfort. Daisy was one of the founding members of St. Philips Episcopal Church in Frisco, and was active in the Bill Glass “Behind the Walls” prison ministry where she would bring the light of Christ to those in need. Daisy’s greatest ambition was to love and serve others and to be a ‘Tender Loving Care” giver. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held for Daisy Lollis at 1:00 pm, October 14, 2017 at St. Philips Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Order of Christian Workers Children’s Christmas Party. As an award-winning published poet, Daisy wrote this poem just for us:“My Prayer for Those I Leave Behind”I pray God’s strength will make you strong,His wisdom make you wise,His gentle love will soothe your hearts,As we say our last goodbyes,And may Angels lead you on a pathOf prosperity, peace, and love.So that your life is abundantly filledWith blessings from above. And that knowing you are held in my heart,Brings comfort and not a tear.Just know I’m in a better place,And I’ll be waiting for you here.Love,Daisy Lollis(Heaven bound)
