Daniel "Dan" Lewis Stowe's Obituary
Daniel (Dan) Lewis Stowe, age 78, of Richardson, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. He was born on August 13, 1947, in Austin, Texas to Leland Stowe and Alleen Loucks.
Dan graduated from Richardson High School in 1965, where he distinguished himself as a standout multi-sport athlete. He earned All-District honors as a tackle in 1963 and 1964, helped lead his team to a district championship in 1964, and was later selected to the school’s prestigious All-Century Team. In addition to football, Dan was an excellent discus thrower on the track team, further showcasing his strength and competitive spirit. His passion and talent for football earned him the opportunity to continue playing at University of North Texas. Though a spinal injury cut his playing career short, his love for the game remained a lifelong passion.
Dan was a hardworking and dedicated provider. He owned and operated his own commercial cleaning business before serving as Head of Maintenance at St. Paul Classical School. During his time there, he also became part of the football coaching staff, a role he considered one of his greatest honors. He found immense joy in mentoring young athletes and sharing his love for the game.
Above all, Dan was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Stowe, in 2023; his sister, Debbie Stowe; and his parents, Leland Stowe and Alleen Loucks. He is survived by his children, Danny Stowe, Andy Stowe, and Samantha Reasor; his cherished grandchildren, Dylan Stowe, Chloe Stowe, Laken Stowe, Campbell Stowe, Shae McQuillan, Reagan McQuillan, Sidney Reasor, and Lillian Reasor; and his brother, Gary Stowe.
Dan was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed a game. He spent many years coaching his children in football, soccer, softball, and track, creating lasting memories and teaching lessons that extended far beyond sports.
A memorial service to celebrate Dan’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.
Dan’s legacy lives on in the family he loved deeply, the players he coached, and the many lives he touched. He will be remembered for his strength, his generosity, and the joy he brought to those around him.
