Dan was an inspiration to me from the first time I saw him at our LINT meeting. His instruments were always a work of art. I was fortunate to be able to get to know Dan. He invited me over to his shop on several occasions to show me what he was up to, or teach me something. Dan was a generous person and I am proud to call him my friend. My deepest sympathy to your family, you will be missed. Steve Bigelow
Whenever I attended a LINT gathering, he was the person I made sure to listen to. The way he approached things… It was wonderful. We were all so fortunate that he gave so much. A very special man. Ken Sribnick – Away at a music event in Halifax.

Dan was a good friend. He was intelligent, creative, prolific, giving and also a maverick. He was never content to do anything the conventional way but used his genius and talent to find new, better and more creative solutions to problems and challenges. Every beautiful instrument he built was a totally unique creation and filled with his original ideas. The specialized tools he created were a constant source of wonder to the lutherie community. Dan – I miss you buddy. Phil Morris
Charley and Family – I'm so very sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of hanging out with Charley and Dan. He was a great man and will truly be missed. Prayers for your family.
