I lost my best friend and soul-mate, when my precious husband, Jerry Savell, passed from this world into everlasting life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was truly 'The Wind Beneath My Wings' …..always lifting me up, making me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world…telling me over and over again every day how much he loved me, how much he appreciated the good care I was giving him daily, and how lucky he was to have found me almost 58 years ago. We celebrated our 56th anniversary on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, and then God mercifully took him in his sleep in the early morning hours of November 28, 2014……therefore, sparing him the 'end stages' of that horrible disease, ALS. I will always love you, baby! PJ

Phyllis, I just wanted you to know that I thought "the world" of Jerry. He was the epitome of a gentleman. He was the sole reason that the women golfers at DAC no longer have any time restrictions on when they can play. This was implemented by him while I was serving on the Golf and Greens when he was chairman. Most of the women have no idea what a service he did for them!!
