We, the children of Paul Hansen, David's brother, loved our "Unc". I loved to hear his stories about his youth. He was a really good story-teller. Here is one of my favorites: He said that his parents were very, very strict, and his curfew was an order that he dare not challenge. Thing is, being a ?snotty kid?, he missed his curfew one evening. He was sitting on a friend?s porch with his arm around the girl sitting next to him when his mother came charging down the street. She marched onto the porch, grabbed him by the ear and dragged him home, saying, ?I?m going to tell your father about this!? Later, his father called David into his office. Oh oh. All his father said was, ?Son, it?s not what you did, but what it could lead up to that is the problem.? Laughing, Uncle David told me, ?I didn?t know what the "heck" he was talking about!? My love and deepest condolences to our cousins and families. We miss him, too. Alice Hansen Staton
