David Thomas Northcutt's Obituary
David was born January 18, 1950 in East Dallas to Jerre and David Northcutt, Sr. He passed away September 17, 2021.
David will be remembered for his dry humour and quiet demeanor. As a very young child he had a very active imagination and enjoyed playing cowboys. He attended Stonewall Jackson Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School before attending Baylor University where he graduated and became a private CPA. In addition, his dedication to his church made him a successful accounts manager for the Sunday School Office at East Dallas Christian Church for many years. David enjoyed fishing, gardening and making fruit preserves. He collected stamps, coins and historical artifacts, often regaling friends and family with little known facts about them. Although they never married, he and Shannon Warner Hinckley were long term partners, together for over 20 years, until her death in 2018. In the last year, he had enjoyed his work at the nearby Tom Thumb grocery store.
David is predeceased by his parents, Jerre LaRue Parker Northcutt and David Thomas Northcutt, Sr., and his sister Carolyn Northcutt Burkhart. He is survived by his sister Kay Northcutt Clifton of Rockport, TX, nieces Jamise Hill Fisher and Amy Hill Garcia also of Rockport, TX, and great nieces Alexa Wall of Santa Rosa, CA and Sabrina Fisher of Houston, TX, as well as various cousins. David will also be missed by his “step” children, Teresa Hinckley Jankowska, Greg Hinckley and Sheridan Hinckley Krov, and their children, as well as friends, neighbors and co-workers.
The funeral will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
David battled T1 diabetes for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Foundation at www.diabetes.org.
