Mr. David Edward Preston's Obituary
Dr. David Preston passed unexpectedly June 2 after a 3-week battle with an infection. He was 82 years old. Growing up in Dallas, he graduated North Dallas High School, class of 1961. He went on to attend East Texas State and North Texas State Universities, earning a Doctorate of Education. For over 40 years, he taught Sociology, Computer Science, and Criminology at what is now called Dallas College, Eastfield Campus. He had a deep love of learning and greatly enjoyed passing it on to others, both professionally and personally. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and trusted him as Savior. He attended East Dallas Christian Church, Scofield Memorial Church, and Reinhardt Bible Church over the years. He was also active in the local Masonic Lodge and especially enjoyed helping others learn their oral traditions. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator since his elementary school days and enjoyed chewing the rag with his fellow operators. In all of these endeavors, he greatly enjoyed helping those around him in need, and especially teaching them things they needed to learn. Also, he is survived by 3 grandsons: Josh Preston of Chandler, AZ, Connor Preston of Denver, CO, and Isaac Noack of Waxahachie, TX.
