I met Dene when I attended a RENG meeting several years ago. I was looking for work and I had lost my beloved mother a few years earlier. Cindy Cooper introduced me to RENG. Dene was welcoming and in time, I realized that he had special, God-given love for people. I attended the memorial service held on 11.7.23and extend condolences to his family, colleagues, and friends.
Dene was admired, respected, and loved by his coworkers. Below are some collective thoughts that the CMI team would like to share with Mary, Melanie, Matt, Amy, and all Dene’s loved ones.
“I never had the pleasure of meeting Dene in person. I only spoke to him over the phone, but he was always joking around and made me laugh every time he would call.”
“Dene always could brighten your day by a funny joke. He was always looking to help others and always looking for his next real estate transaction.”
“I am fortunate and blessed to have spent two decades with the likes of Dene Allred.”
“Dene takes the golden prize for having patience with clients.”
“I told him I heard a rumor that he was older than SFA. He responded, ‘I founded SFA and as the only student, I finished 1st in my class.’”
“Dene was a true gentleman.”
“Dene is in a select fraternity of humans who actually 'walked the walked' with every fiber in his earthly vessel, every day. Not that he wasn't human, but he had pure motives with each word and deed.”

The last time we saw Dene before he went into the hospital was for his birthday party at Pappadeaux's restaurant. All of us here in the Dallas Office were there including Vic. It was pleasant. We got to see him, break bread with him and everyone, and we met Mary, too! Dene being gone is definitely our loss, yet heaven's gain.
The office is not the same without you. Rest in Peace, Dene.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Dene since 1985. He was CMI’s “Dene of Real Estate” and led our Dallas office. We started the Dallas office together January 1st in 1985 at 160 Mockingbird. He was hired as on-site Leasing Agent for Mockingbird Plaza, where he leased up the building. Dene leased a space to McDonald’s so he could enjoy the Big Mac!
From Mockingbird Plaza, CMI moved to Blair Street and then on to two locations on LBJ Freeway. No matter which office location we had in Dallas, Dene always ended up with the biggest office, much bigger than mine. He was the “Dene of Real Estate!”
Dene was quite the jokester and many laughs ensued. He enjoyed telling jokes and sending funnies via email.
Dene was a delight and could cheer someone up when they were down. He was always a positive light.
Dene and I both enjoyed talking sports and we’d speculate on who would win. I think he would have been ecstatic that the Rangers won the World Series, but on November 1 when that occurred, he was already in the arms of Jesus – and what a celebration I imagine Dene was having.
We have had quite a relationship during this time and his family was my family. Dene never met a stranger, and you could tell by his circle of friends.
