Dene Allred's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Gale Dene Allred
“Well done thy good and faithful servant.” Those are the words that Dene Allred heard before his first breath into Heaven, as he entered eternity on November 1, 2023. Dene passed away peacefully while holding the hand of his beloved bride Mary, while listening to hymns as Amy, Melanie and Matt gathered around him. His passing occurred after a short 35-day hospital visit, due to complications with Acute Myeloma Leukemia. Dene was born on September 15, 1945, in Lufkin, Texas to Jodie and Aliece Allred. He accepted Christ at a young age, and loved and served Him throughout his entire life. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1964 and from Stephen F Austin in 1968. Dene met his wife, Mary Evans, in his sophomore year at SFA where they soon fell in love. They were married on May 25,1968 and had three children together, Melanie, Mark, and Matt. Dene and Mary have been members of Heights Church, in Richardson Texas, since 1978. Dene served as Deacon of Heights Baptist Church since 1974.
After graduating from SFA, Dene worked for Southwestern Bell/ AT&T for 17 years before becoming a commercial real estate broker for CMI Brokerage, where he became affectionately known as, The ‘Dene’ of Real Estate.
Dene’s real love was in service to others. He spent his life loving Jesus and helping others using his Christ-like wisdom and discernment. He served thousands of job seekers through faith-based ministries. In 1993, he began as a mentor at Career Transition Workshop. In 2000 Dene co-founded Career Transition Ministry with his lifelong friend Lynn Guillory which continued until 2012. He was deeply involved in the important work of the Evangelical Development Ministry. Everyone who knew him loved Dene because of the love he showed for them.

Dene leaves behind a large legacy for his family and friends. Anyone who knew Dene was a recipient of his big heart and his encouraging spirit. He was known for his willingness to drop everything to help a friend. He delighted in making you laugh and loved to sing in his beautiful tenor voice, often to the delight of his grandchildren. His wife, children, and grandchildren will continue to carry his wisdom and love as they navigate through the triumphs and trials of their lives.
Gratefulness and thankfulness are expressed by the family to his friends and colleagues for their deep love and affection for Dene, and for their impact on his life.
