I got to know DeNettra at work after our consolidation. She was a truly caring person. She was always on top of her leave and making sure she avoided lwop, whenever possible. I concur with others who stated she was a selfless person. We talked about her condition and she would keep me posted on her progress. But even while she was going though her own health concerns, she always asked me how was my mom. When my brother passed, DeNettra was right there again, trying to comfort me. One day she complimented me on a purse I was carrying. She told me she had a purse that she thought I would like and brought it the next day. And yes, I loved it. Now I have something else to remember her by. Many days she came to work and wasn't feeling well, you could tell, and I would lift her up in prayer at that moment. I was so shocked by her untimely passing. I could not believe it. DeNettra, the affect you had on my heart will always be remembered. I am grateful to have known you and to have shared bits and pieces of our lives with each other. Thanks for introducing me to the hamburger joint down the street, where we would walk over on some Wednesdays and order food to go. This is the same place you introduced me to Sergio, your other half. You, my lady, fought a fine fight and you did it with grace. You never concentrated on what you were going through, but always tried to remain a positive force in the lives of others. You were lifting them up, when you yourself really needed lifting. I will miss you my friend, and that will never end.
