Don was truly one of the kindest men I’ve ever known! As A matter of fact he was more like a second father to me. He and my dad were best friends and they were the two funniest people you could ever be around. Most of my best memories throughout my entire life involved the Crabtree‘s. Our yearly SixFlags/Astroworld trips were the best! Every 6 person ride we’d SQUEEZE all 8 of us in (you couldn’t get away with that today!) It never failed as we were getting on the “log ride” Mary and or my mother were constantly saying, “Now this time we’re not going to splash!” Of course we would all promise. But the minute we were out of site of the employees dad or Don would start the biggest water fight you’ve ever seen and by the time we got to the end of the log ride all of us are soaking wet and laughing like there was no tomorrow! We were always the last people at the park, they were literally shutting it down and pushing us out the gates.
I could tell stories for days but the point is they were ALWAYS the most fun stories of my life and Don was always a part of them. Don was kind, loving, sincere, protective, a loyal friend, I devout Christian and he adored his family and I adored him… we all did!!! He will be truly missed and thought of daily. I love you Don!!! I know you and dad are up there causing all kinds of trouble! and I look forward to joining you both one day.
All my love, Cynthia
