It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our much-loved father and grandfather and great-grandfather, Donald Edward Haley. Donald was born in Big Sandy, Texas on September 18, 1930, to Emm Read Obituary
I worked for Mr. Haley for many years before finally retiring from HGI. There were many fun times and occasional sad times. Mr. Haley was a kind, good hearted man. He valued his employees and they, in turn, respected him. People were impressed to know that you worked at HGI because of his reputation for treating people right.
Every now and then Rob would tell me " Mr. Haley wants to see you in his office right away". Wondering what was up, I would walk in and say "You wanted to see me?'. He would get this big smile because he knew Rob was just messing with me. I'll never forget that smile! I miss those years and the "Good Old Days"

Ironworkers Local 84 extends out heartfelt condolences on the passing of Mr. Haley. His dedication to quality and collaboration left a lasting mark on our trade. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues.
Don was such a genuine man. He was a man of integrity and a faithful follower of Jesus, and wanted anyone and everyone to know about what an amazing Savior he had. He had a passion for the lost, for the downhearted, and for the persecuted. He always pointed people to Jesus! Never wanting to receive any glory for himself, he was incredibly generous to others. He had a brilliant mind and strategically put his generosity in action to tell people about Jesus. I miss Don Haley - but he is with his faithful Savior right now - this we know for certain. God’s richest blessings to those he leaves behind - those he will someday have join him in Heaven.
My fondest memories of Don were the times we hunted together at the Navajo Ranch in South Texas and his Ranch in St Jo. Don was a very close friend, an exceptional person and a man of faith. I was very proud to leave a tombstone at the site where Don shot his record Boone & Crocket 210 1/4 buck. We had some great times together we will all miss him.
