Donald Edward Haley's Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our much-loved father and grandfather and great-grandfather, Donald Edward Haley. Donald was born in Big Sandy, Texas on September 18, 1930, to Emmalou and Jack Haley. He passed from this life on September 5, 2025.
Donald moved to Dallas, Texas around age 12 and graduated from North Dallas High School. He then attended Paris Junior College, where he played football. Don was inducted into the Hall-of-Fame for Paris College in 2014.
Donald began his career in the curtain wall, glass & glazing business in 1950 with Binswainger Glass for five years and then moved to Oak Cliff Mirror & Glass. After a long tenure with Oak Cliff, Don founded Haley-Greer, Inc. in 1979 with Jim Greer. Donald has been a leader and mentor in the glass industry for years and grew Haley-Greer into one of the premier curtain wall specialty contractors in the United States, focusing mainly on Texas. Donald created a company that values family, faith, teamwork and client satisfaction. Some of his most proud projects Haley-Greer completed were Enron, Pier One, Houston Convention Center, Frost Bank Austin, Winspear Opera House, AT&T Stadium and Globe Life.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother, Dr. Jack Haley; brother, Joe Haley, Peggy Haley; wife, Diane Haley; son, Rocky Haley; and many other friends and family members.
Donald is survived by his daughter, Letitia Barker; son, Lenis Haley; son, Robert Haley and his wife Angela; daughter, Audrey Haley; his granddaughters, Michelle Outlaw and her wife Markelle, Lily and Laney Haley; his great-grandson, James Outlaw; and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was a devout Christian and above all else, he loved Jesus. One of Donald’s passions in life was also contributing to many local and global ministries. He founded Revival In Our Time in 2008 which consists of unique partnerships with 12 ministries from around the world. Donald also loved the outdoors was a lifelong hunter and avid fisherman. He loved being at his ranch or the lake house and enjoyed gardening.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 25th at 2:00pm at Restland Funeral Home in the Memorial Chapel in Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission at https://ugmdallas.org.
