Aunt Mazel and Cousins,
We are so very sorry for the loss of Uncle Don and for all the grief you all are going through.
Granny invited Marc and me for Thanksgiving after the loss of Marc's father (Uncle Don's brother). While there I was introduced to Uncle Don and Aunt Mazel. One by one, two by two their children kept coming in until the home was full and there was 30 - 35 of them. He and you all were so warm, friendly and made me feel so welcome.
That was the first of many lovely Thanksgiving or Christmas's. While there Uncle Don and Aunt Mazel invited us to call and stop by if we were passing through Dallas. The next year we called them and we stopped by for the weekend. Marc said to me that he was hoping he would be able to see two cousins that were not able to attend Thanksgiving the year before. Much to our surprise they invited their children and their families who lived in the Dallas area. It was one of their famous huge family get-togethers and the first of many wonderful Sunday dinner gatherings.
I only know Uncle Don and Aunt Mazel as one, what a team they are.
I also remember Uncle Don always saying the blessing before all meals and how patient he was with the grandchildren and how they both spoke so proudly about each of their children and their grandchildren and their achievements. He did like his western movies and especially John Wayne. Most every visit he would show us his pistol and explain what good protection it is.
The USA would be a much better place if more people had such wonderful examples in countless ways of loving, caring and devoted parents like Uncle Don and Aunt Mazel.
He will be greatly missed and remembered for all time. He will live on forever through his children, grandchildren and their families. Rest in peace Uncle Don.
