Donald Joseph Phillips' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Joseph Phillips, affectionately known as Don, who left us on May 7th, 2025, at the age of 86. Don was born on June 17th, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Esther and Benedict Phillips.
Don's life was marked by love and dedication. He met the love of his life, Dorothy, in his home-town of Milwaukee, and they were married on November 19, 1960. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Michael and Laura, who brought immense joy to their lives.
Don had a passion for playing cards, with a particular fondness for poker, cribbage, and especially Sheepshead. His love for woodworking and yard work was evident in the beautiful creations he crafted and the meticulous care he took of his surroundings. Don was also known for his corny jokes, which never failed to bring a smile to the faces of those around him.
Don is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy.
Don's legacy lives on through his son, Michael Phillips and wife Jean Ann, and their son, Andrew Phillips; his daughter, Laura Phillips (Roland) and her children, Phillip Ocheltree and Nichole Lewis; as well as all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, humor, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
Don will be laid to rest next to his wife, Dorothy, at Restland Memorial Park.
