Although you don't know me, I would like to share my memory of your mother. Her mother, Mina and my father, Pirtle Walker were half brother/sister. At the time Mina lived near Tietze Park…I believe on Vickery St. in Dallas. We were there to visit Mina and my father's mother. It was the only time I met her….they called her "Cotton" because of her white hair….which by the way I inherited. I was about 6 years old and Doris Helen was 10 years older than me. I remember thinking how very pretty she was, so nice and grown up. Someone played the piano….The Missouri Waltz….and it may have been Doris Helen. That is one of the few memories I have of my father's family. The next time we were in Dallas was when Cotton died and we attended her funeral….probably less than a year later. I was happy to see a picture of Doris Helen. She is still very pretty and kindness shines from her face. It's hard to say goodbye to those we love. I feel sure you have sweet memories that will forever bring you joy. My condolences to you and your family. Jeannette Walker Fredrick 903 238 8732
Doris and I have something in common, we are both great grandparents of three lovely great grand children; David, Jay and Laney. Bob, I am sorry you lost your mother, condolences to you and also to Jan. Joe Gomer
Sweet Doris changed my life. I met her a year ago and although I did not know her before her memory loss, I know she was a spectacular woman with a loved filled life. Doris and I built a relationship unlike anything else. I loved this sweet lady with my whole heart, she was very much a part of my family. Doris enjoyed listening to me sing to her during various parts of the day. I was so lucky to have known her and to know her daughter Jan. Doris will be missed dearly but her unconditional love will forever be in my heart.
