Doris Helen Deatherage's Obituary
Doris Helen Deatherage, 87, has finally claimed her rightful, resting place with the Lord. Born February 19, 1929 in Megargel, Texas to John and Mina Haralson, the family moved to Dallas after her father’s death in 1933. After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1947, Doris attended Decatur Baptist College. Her faith in God was an ever-present foundation in her long life. She is preceded in death by her mother, her husband William R. Deatherage, son James A. Deatherage. She is survived by her daughter Jan Deatherage of Bartonville, TX and son Bob Deatherage of Friendswood, TX, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Doris had a lovely smile, a friendly outlook and genuine interest in those around her. Dedicated in Christian outreach, and active with her church families, she lived a full life, loved and was loved by many. Blessings and thanks to the caring staff at both Autumn Leaves of Flower Mound and Mercy Hospice. A Celebration of Life will be held February 19, 1:30PM at Restland in Dallas. In lieu of flowers please consider supporting the Alzheimer’s Association.
