It took me until I got older because as a kid I thought nothing of it…she was my Aunt Darce…the Texas draw was the culprit…her name is Doris…never occurred to me until I was older… There's not a special occasion birthday party or holiday childhood memory that I can think of that didn't include her. Her house the night before Easter, every Easter growing up…watching wrestling, waking up early to dye Easter eggs, looking forward to her potato salad; hiding the eggs in her yard; every Christmas Day… Spending summers at her house with Aunt Mary teaching me how to play solitaire, learning the dramas of life through soap operas, rolling down her hill in her front yard, riding a skateboard down her steep driveway and sidewalk; garage sales at her house because she had the best location; Birthday cards, new clothes, Foleys, lottery My 1st trip to Las Vegas for my 21st birthday Strong, independent, stubborn, blunt, compassionate, loving, stern, thoughtful, opinionated, mentor, selfless, mother, grandmother, Aunt, sister, friend, a part of our lives and family. Always putting others needs before her own. She'd do anything for you. You loved her and she unconditionally loved you, no matter what…good, bad, she was your Nanny. We say goodbye to our Nanny. a great woman, one of the best people you will ever have the privilege of knowing…but her memory will live on through all of us, always and forever. I love you Nanny, Kimberly
