Doris J. Hooper's Obituary
Hooper, Doris Jane, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 19, 2016, surrounded by family and loved ones. Doris was born June 18, 1931 in Belgrade, Missouri. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1948 to work for Safeco Insurance Company, where she retired after 40 years. She also worked for the department store chain formerly known as Sanger Harris/Foley’s/and currently Macy’s, for 26 years. Doris enjoyed the interaction with people. Her greatest love, however, was her family. Doris is survived by her former husband William David Hooper, Sr.; son William David Hooper, Jr and wife Linda Latham Hooper; daughters Diana Campos and husband Samuel Campos, Nancy Black and husband Carey Sande, Mary Farley and husband James Farley; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, as well. Doris is also survived by her brothers Edwin Ralph Gillam, Clyde Harvey Gillam and wife Janet Faye Gillam, and Kenneth Lewis Gillam, all of Missouri. Doris was preceded in death by her son Michael Lynn Hooper; father Harry Ralph Gillam; Sister Glendora May Harlin; and brother James Harold Gillam. Funeral services for Doris Hooper will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2016 in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas with Pastor Doug Meyer officiating Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
