Dorothy Mae Linburg's Obituary
Died peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Dallas, Texas on November 28, 2009. She was born in Snyder, Colorado on July 27, 1915 to Lola and Floyd Spillman. She married Fred Niles Linburg on March 28, 1937 in Denver, Colorado. During WWII, she lived in California, working in the shipyards while Fred served overseas in the Navy. After the war, they returned to Colorado where she worked as a bank manager and served as president of the Womens Club of Denver and the PTA. In 1964, the family moved to Dallas where she and Fred made lifelong friends who shared their love of cards, golf and square dancing. Dorothy was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family and grandsons. After moving to Edgemere in 2004, she continued her winning streak at cards, and never lost her quick wit and sense of humor. She is survived by her son, William Niles Linburg and wife Angela; grandsons Barrett Niles Linburg and wife Heather; Cole Andersen Linburg; Austin Burnett Linburg and fiance Sarah; and greatgrandson Luke Burnett Linburg. She is also survived by her cherished sister, Ruby Lee Douglas and husband George of Colorado Springs, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Fred, and brothers, Louis, Maurice, Jack and Tom Spillman. A service celebrating her life will be held at 4:00pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Cox Chapel at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Trinity River Mission, 2060 Singleton Blvd. #104, Dallas, TX 75212.
