A novel could be written without capturing all memories that have been shared throughout Doug's life. I did not know him in depth, but enough to tell anyone how wonderful of a person Doug was. His smile was so contagious, and at billiard events I always will remember how he calmly carried himself no matter how stressful and frantic the events actually were. He treated us all with the utmost respect. To say how much he will be missed would be understated. The happiness and love that he shared with Heather, Sherrie and all of his friends and family was evident in all his actions. I pray that you all are able to celebrate his life and that the pain and sorrow pass quickly into joy and admiration. Love you all!! I consider myself very blessed to have even known him to the extent I did. Doug will live on forever in my heart!
I have worked with Doug for several years, and have to say that his integrity and passion were 2nd to none. My deepest sympathy to Doug's family and all who loved him. I'm very sorry for you loss. Brett Engmark.

I worked with Doug for years and learned something new both on a technical level and personal level each time. Some of my funniest memories are of him at baseball games … and of him sharing his neverending passion for work and "doing it right". I will miss him and learning from him – dearly. My sympathies – and sympathies from all of us in the MCI/Verizon family – go out to his family.
There are just too many special memories to share any specific one. Thanks Doug, for being in our lives and helping create such wonderful memories. Doug was a special person and a great friend. Doug, his family and his friends are in our thoughts and prayers every day. – Kevin & Courtney Smith
